The Northern Aurora Business Association (NABA) is a non-profit membership organization addressing business/area needs of Aurora's northern communities.

NABA Membership means an investment with returns!

Established in 1968, the Association has been a driving force in the redevelopment of the northern metro area through its difficult economic times. The Association continues that momentum as Aurora focuses the next ten years on Fitzsimons, Lowry and Stapleton.

Being a Key Central Organization in Aurora's "Growth Triangle", NABA is in a position to address and resolve growth-related economic issues.

    Our Purpose:

  • To promote, further and develop the common business interests of Metro Aurora's northern business community.
  • To promote close cooperation between Metro Aurora's northern business interests.
  • To develop, sponsor and further promotional events form Metro Aurora's northern business community.
  • To promote and encourage the development of desirable new business in Metro Aurora's northern community.
  • To develop communications with all governmental units that may affect the business and professional interests of Metro Aurora's northern businesses.

Our Mission:
The Northern Aurora Business Association (NABA) is the collective voice of a thriving, diverse community dedicated to addressing business and area needs.

Our Board of Directors:
The Association's Board of Directors has more than 200+ combined years' commitment to Original Aurora.

Our Membership:
Membership is open to anyone interested in supporting the civic and economic development of northern Aurora and its surrounding community.

Currently more than 150 local area businesses and organizations are NABA members.

    Our Involvement:

  • Involved in the development of the new MLK Library, the Florence Square mixed use project - both in the heart of downtown Aurora and working with The City of Aurora on the Art District. Great changes are on the way!
  • Obtained and coordinated implementation of over 900,000+ in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for economic development projects along the Colfax Corridor (and we are expanding to other areas). Sample projects include, Fletcher Plaza, outdoor security business lighting, streetscaping, banners, Colfax holiday decorations, plaza and sidewalk lights, median landscaping, and promotional material.
  • Coordinates and facilitates business mixers and meetings to network and address topics such as Lowry, Stapleton, Fitzsimons D.I.A., Police and Safety Issues, Business Marketing, Opportunities, Advertising, Open Forums, etc.
  • Publishes and distributes quarterly NABA Newsletter, a central source for community and business information affecting Metro Aurora's northern communities. Current distribution: just under 1,200 which includes NABA members, associates, legislative and City staff, political representation, local businesses and interested individuals and groups.
  • Coordinates Aurora's most established special events throughout the year including: the New Festival International, NABA/Waste Management Golf Tournament, Aurora Farmers' Markets, free community holiday activities, including Easter Egg Scramble, Safe Trick or Treat on E. Colfax and the Children's Holiday Party. Active members of the Colorado Festival & Events Association, Main Street Colorado, the Visitors Promotion Advisory Board Citizens Advisory Budget Committee and the Blue Ribbon Panel.
  • Key organization in implementation and updating the Colfax Main Street Master Plan.
  • Coordinated 1,000+ Community Service hours in 2006 for Arapahoe, Adams, & Jefferson Counties' Judicial Service Programs.

Our Special Events:
The Northern Aurora Business Association (NABA) is popular metro wide for its annual events that provide opportunities for businesses, organizations, and the surrounding communities to interact.

Our 2006 event demographics indicated over 30% of attendees were from outside of Aurora.

  • Vendor representation included four states
  • The median audience age was between 25-44;
  • Ethnic breakdown 24% white, 25% black, 47% hispanic, & 5% Asian/other;
  • Aurora representation was heavy in the 80010, 80011, 80012, 80014 & 80017 zip codes.

  • Trick-or-Treat on East Colfax Avenue

    In addition, our larger events like the Festival International, the Colfax Trick or Treat, the Easter Egg Scramble and the annual Golf tournament draw people (and corporate sponsorships) from all over the state to witness this area's revitalization efforts.

    Yes, NABA is popular for its special events... however, we do much more!
